Ground Beef Curly Noodle
Over the years, we have amassed a large collection of Dutch oven recipes, and we enjoy sharing them
with others who appreciate this form of cast iron cooking. The popularity of Dutch oven cooking has increased
greatly over the past several years as many people discover the benefits of using these cast iron pots and
associated pieces of cast iron cookware. Most of our recipes can be used for indoor cooking in your oven or
outdoors in a more traditional campfire setting.
Quick and easy meal with a delectable gourmet flavor that even picky eaters cannot resist; this kid
friendly dish is a must try especially if your children are difficult to feed. Ground beef, noodles, corn and
tomatoes make a complete meal in one pot!
Ingredients:
3 To 4 lbs boneless brisket
2 tablespoons Schmaltz (rendered chicken fat)
3 lg sweet potato
3 lg Carrots
Juice of 1 orange
1/2 lb Prunes--pitted
1/2 lb Dried apricots
1 Lemon--thinly sliced
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
5 cups boiling water
Cooking Instructions:
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Cooking Steps:
- Using a Dutch oven cook the ground beef over medium-high heat or until the meat is browned. Stir
occasionally then drain the excess fat.
- Stir in the flavor packet from the noodles, tomatoes, corn including the juices. Add the noodles into
the Dutch oven then bring into a boil.
- Reduce the heat, cover and let it simmer for about 10 minutes or until the noodles are
tender.
- Stir regularly to break up the noodles.
- Serve hot.
